DAY 1: ARRIVAL & OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE
Our much-anticipated babymoon in Scottsdale kicked off with a smooth midday arrival at Royal Palms Resort & Spa. Chris and I wasted no time in immersing ourselves in the local scene. But first, a pit stop at the iconic In-N-Out which you cant miss while you’re on the west coast!
After refueling, we checked into our charming bungalow at the resort. Freshened up and eager to explore, we ventured into Old Town Scottsdale. The historic district welcomed us with its vibrant energy, offering a plethora of shops and restaurants to peruse. Hours flew by as we wandered, taking in the sights and sounds of this quaint yet lively area. Our evening concluded with a leisurely poolside session before indulging in dinner at the local gem, Oscars Tacos.
DAY 2: HIKING & MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
The early morning sun found us awake, though perhaps a tad too early for my liking. Adjusting to the time change, I found so much enjoyment in a quiet moment on the porch with decaf coffee until Chris joined me. Our day began with a delightful breakfast at T Cooks, where I had avocado toast while Chris had the Mediterranean Benedict.
Energized, we embarked on a hike at Pinnacle Peak—a challenging yet rewarding experience amidst breathtaking scenery. Navigating the trails with my baby bump was no easy feat, but the panoramic views made it all worthwhile. A pit stop at Nekktar for a refreshing smoothie rejuvenated us before an afternoon by the pool and a maternity photoshoot at Pepago Park with the talented Alex Marie Photography!
The evening brought us to Pizzeria Bianco, where we shared a meal—quite the rarity considering Chris’s is a “Joey doesn’t share food” kinda guy Yet, the shared experience only added to the culinary delight, as we relished in salad, margherita pizza, and bolognese.
DAY 3: PAMPERING & APACHE TRAIL EXPLORATION
Chris truly outdid himself by arranging a prenatal massage for me at Alvadora Spa—a blissful morning of relaxation. Revitalized, we embarked on an adventure along the Apache Trail, stopping to marvel at scenic vistas and embrace the rugged terrain. This was such a helpful guide to explore the stops!
As evening descended, we dined at CALA, indulging in appetizers and mocktails to cap off a day filled with exploration and relaxation.
DAY 4: GOLF & 30th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
My milestone birthday dawned with breakfast at T Cooks, where I had best French toast imaginable alongside a refreshing smoothie. We then of course went to McDowell Country Club for a round of golf. Despite being 31 weeks pregnant, I found my stride on the course, relishing in most likely my last round before baby boy, we got paired with a father-son duo who which made the day fun as well!
We rounded off my birthday celebrations with a dinner at Richardson’s—a culinary journey through Mexican flavors that left us thoroughly satisfied. It was so wonderful and one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been too.
As our babymoon drew to a close, we savored one last breakfast at T Cooks, bidding farewell to our favorite server, Katie, and taking a final stroll through Phoenix before heading to the airport. Reflecting on the past four days, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for Chris’s meticulous planning and the precious moments we shared together. With Baby Campbell’s arrival on the horizon, this sweet time together served as the perfect prelude to the joys of parenthood that await us.
I cannot wait to share photos from our maternity shoot, so stay tuned for those!! So grateful for this trip!!
