Im a Nashville based, Carolina raised photographer & entrepreneur who has very big dreams. I love telling your story. I want my photographs to enable you to see far beyond yourself, and allow you to look back and know exactly how your felt in that moment. That guy to the left is my sweet husband & we have two fur babies we love. When i'm not shooting, you can probably find me trying to convince myself it is a good idea to work out, or binge watching netflix.

Nashville Hospital Photos | Collins’ First 48 at St. Thomas Midtown

January 26, 2026

Nashville

back

Some sessions just stay with you forever and Collins’ hospital photos at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville are absolutely one of those. I have had the honor of photographing Matt and Cassidy for years, from their early family milestones to welcoming their sweet boys into the world. Getting the call that baby girl Collins had arrived and that they wanted First 48 hospital photos felt extra special.

Even more meaningful was watching big brother Brooks step into his new role. The way he gently peeked at his baby sister, held her tiny hand, and proudly showed her off was the sweetest thing. These are the moments that make hospital photos so powerful. The raw emotion, the fresh love, and the quiet in between moments you can never recreate later.

What Are First 48 Hospital Photos?

First 48 hospital photos document the very beginning of your baby’s story, typically within the first 24 to 48 hours after birth. These sessions are lifestyle focused and intentionally simple.

Some of my favorite moments captured during hospital photos include:

• Fresh baby details like tiny toes, wrinkly fingers, and hospital bracelets
• First family snuggles
• Sibling introductions
• Parents soaking in those first moments
• The real and beautiful environment of the hospital room

Unlike in home sessions, hospital photos capture your family exactly as you are in those first hours. Emotional, tired, joyful, overwhelmed, and completely in love.

Big Brother Brooks Steals the Show

Brooks absolutely stole the show during this session. Watching him meet Collins for the first time was priceless. He was so gentle, so curious, and already so protective. These sibling introductions are one of my favorite parts of hospital photos because they happen once and then life moves fast. Freezing these moments in time is something families cherish forever.

A Whirlwind Right Before the Nashville Ice Storm

This session was extra memorable because it happened right before Nashville’s big ice storm rolled in. The city was buzzing, roads were about to ice over, and there was that everything is happening at once feeling in the air. Inside the hospital room, everything slowed down. Just Matt, Cassidy, Brooks, and sweet Collins soaking in the calm before both the storm outside and the new season of life ahead.

It is moments like this that remind me why I love offering hospital photos and First 48 sessions. Life does not pause when a baby arrives and that is exactly what makes documenting it so meaningful.

Why Hospital Photos Are Worth It

Parents often ask if hospital photos are worth it and sessions like this are the answer. You will never regret having:

• Your baby’s very first hours documented
• The first time siblings meet
• Your first family photos as a new unit
• The tiny details you will forget faster than you think

These images become part of your family history.

Welcome to the World, Collins

Matt and Cassidy, thank you for trusting me yet again to capture such a sacred season in your lives. Collins is already so deeply loved and Brooks is going to be the best big brother. I am beyond grateful to continue telling your family’s story through photography.

If you are expecting and considering Nashville hospital photos or a First 48 session at St. Thomas Midtown, I would love to connect and help you preserve this once in a lifetime chapter.
