Im a Nashville based, Carolina raised photographer & entrepreneur who has very big dreams. I love telling your story. I want my photographs to enable you to see far beyond yourself, and allow you to look back and know exactly how your felt in that moment. That guy to the left is my sweet husband & we have two fur babies we love. When i'm not shooting, you can probably find me trying to convince myself it is a good idea to work out, or binge watching netflix.

LONG HUNTER STATE PARK ENGAGEMENT SESSION | DAVIS & NATALIE | NASHVILLE, TN

October 12, 2020

Engagement

back

Wow! Thats all I can say. I love Davis & Natalies story. We met at Long Hunter State Park on the prettiest fall day. Long Hunter State Park is this gorgeous park outside of Nashville and is a perfect location for an engagement session. Not only do you have the lake with the overlooks, there are beautiful fields everywhere that make for a perfect fall feel.

Now to tell you a little bit about Davis & Natalie. I have known Davis for a really long time, we grew up going to school together & love the town of Boone & Appalachian State & now live in the same city of Nashville together. He is such a great friend to everyone around him. Then there is Natalie. I didn’t know too much about Natalie until wedding planning began, but she is such a rockstar! She is so much fun to be around & everything I could ever imagine for Davis.

Their first date Davis wanted to surprise Natalie by taking her to a Taz concert at Basement East. After stopping to get a couple drinks before the concert, they lost track of time talking & ended up missing the entire show. I would say it was very evident they were going to get along. They ended up at Old Glory, spending way too much on overpriced drinks not wanting the night to end. In the end it was so worth it, they shared their first kiss there & Natalie new by the end of the first night she was going to marry Davis. It took Davis a little longer to figure out. Their proposal is such an incredible story. So I wanted you to hear it from Natalie because she is put it so perfectly.

Here is what she said:

“Davis and I had been talking about marriage for quite some time, but it never seem like a convenient time to purchase a ring or pay for a wedding. We both started new jobs at the start of the year and Davis’ dad, Brian, suddenly passed from COVID-19 early April. It seemed like poor timing to mix in an engagement with new income and fresh loss, so I definitely wasn’t expecting anything. Davis had gone fishing after work on Tuesday, April 28th with his good friend Sam. Sam asked him when he was finally going to put a ring on it. Davis said that it might not be the best time and we didn’thave the money for a ring. Sam said that there was always going be something that comes up, no time is ever convenient, etc. Then asked if he had anything to put on my finger. Davis jokingly said he had a zip-tie in his truck.

I am at home in fish printed pajama pants with a Davis’ oversized t-shirt on doing laundry in our laundry room. He walks in to the laundry room with the BIGGEST grin on his face and boldly says, “I know I don’t have a ring but I can’t wait any longer. I want to marry you.” No knee, no flowers, no photographer – just a zip tie and this man with the happiest look on his face. All I remember is screaming “REALLY?!” over and over again. It was simple and pure. Exactly how we both wanted it.

We purchased a diamond ring three days later.”

I love their story. Sometimes the simple things in life can be so beautiful. Their Engagement session at Long Hunter State park is just a glimpse into their story & it was such an honor to photograph them. I can’t explain how excited I am to be apart of Davis & Natalies wedding next fall!
