Chad & Cortney got married at Langtree Plantation in Mooresville, NC. Their love story has always been quite an adventure. They have traveled the world together & moved to Poland recently after meeting. They are all about the journey that life throws at them & that is one of the things I knew was going to make a perfect fit when photographing their love story. I have known Cortney & her family for a while. But I first met Chad at their engagement session, where he had all of the charm. It was a little chilly but we laughed & popped champagne on the top of a rooftop & in Charlotte to celebrate the two of them. Little did we know their next adventure would be trying to get married during a global pandemic. They had a small ceremony in April, that was just a glimpse into how beautiful their love story is. Cortney said it best “Getting married and then having a wedding in the middle of a pandemic isn’s easy or simple but it was the right time, the right place, and we were with the right people.”

And then, finally, the big day arrived. I had been with this couple since the beginning. I had the honor and privilege to capture all the major parts of their love story up to this point, and it was surreal to walk into the doors of the Langtree Plantation and see Cortney as a bride. The day was a beautiful blur, complete with the the most gorgeous of bridesmaids, the most intricate of details, and the best emotions.
Chad & Cortney chose a classic natural color palette with blues & navy with a pop of color here & there. This evoked such elegance that looked perfectly intentional yet totally effortless. The organic floral design was one of the highlights of the day, featuring lots of lush greenery. Altogether, the details were visually captivating, but none so much as Cortneys glam bridal look, which featured the most stunning gown.
The best part of the day was just another glimpse into the adventure their story hold. At sunset we snuck away from the reception to have Chad & Cortney read handwritten vows to each to other. All I can say where they were beautiful. Chad even brought a rose & hourglass they got together in Budapest on one of their many adventures together. He shared how their love will always withstand the sands of time. The moments during photos with just the two of them were so incredible & followed with such fun evening of toast & dancing.

Reading your vows together, just to two of you is always a great idea if you want to write something personal, or if you are nervous to say your vows in front of a large crowd. It also makes for such a sweet moment before sunset photos as a couple.
Although I would love to share every photograph from Chad & Cortneys wedding, here is just a glimpse into their wedding day. Langtree Plantation was such a wonderful venue. If you want to see more of our weddings you can do so here. As well as see what the wedding experience looks like here.
