One of the biggest decisions of your engagement session second to “What to wear?” is “What are the best locations?” THIS IS THE TIME TO THINK outside the box! Along with these perfect locations for your engagement session in Charlotte. We encourage you to brainstorm unique locations that you might have special access to that most people don’t. For example, maybe you, or someone in your personal or professional network, can secure permission to a location that would otherwise be off-limits, like a beautiful private estate, country club or resort. Maybe it’s a family ranch, upscale hotel or even an airplane hangar. The sky is literally the limit! Spend a few minutes thinking about it and checking around. You’ll be surprised with what you come up with. Plus, if something seems out of reach, just remember: you never know until you ask! Our couples have secured permission to some pretty amazing places in the past.

If you are stuck.. then this is for you. Here are a few of my favorite locations in and outside of Charlotte area that make for beautiful engagement photos. From parks and lakes to high rises and hallways, here are my go-to locations in Queen City.

Uptown Charlotte – Skyline & City

Marshall Park – Charlotte, NC

Marshall Park can go wonderfully along with Skyline & city session. The Fall at Marshall Park is stunning. A photo was also taken by Marshall Park at a church right in front of it! It’s such a beautiful “hidden” location and adds variety to your photos!

Latta Plantation – Huntersville, NC

Located in Huntersville, North Carolina at little north of Charlotte is Latta Plantation. This year I have LOVED shooting here. It is a lot like locations in Nashville so I am so used to shooting in this environment. If you love the outdoors, but want a stunning lake view this is your spot. There is a little bit of everything here.

Freedom Park – Charlotte, NC

In the heart of Charlotte, Freedom Park is often busy but it a stunning location for an engagement session. Freedom Park is one of  my FAVORITE locations in Charlotte! I mean, C’MON! It gives SO much variety to work with and every inch of the park is absolutely stunning. Freedom park is full o f Nature, without the City vibes! You can see my most recent family session here!

Midtown Park

Downtown Davidson & Davidson Campus

When you grow up in the town of Davidson, what better of a place to do your session than in your hometown! Even if you didn’t this is such a pretty location for your session. Downtown Davidson is about 30 minutes south of Charlotte, just off 77. It is the cutest place, with shops & pretty buildings. It has so much character. This was my go-to place to shoot when I first starting photographing couples, but it never gets old. Even better than that, its doesn’t matter what time of year you shoot here, its going to be beautiful. Sunrise & sunset are stunning here as well. It can be a little busy on the weekend, so weekdays are the best option to shoot here unless you are down for a sunrise shoot, just grab yourself some Summit Coffee on the way in and you will be good to go!

 

Blythe Landing – Cornelius, NC

Fisher Farms – Davidson

It has been quite a while since I shot at Fisher Farms because it is so busy with family session around the fall. The fall is when Fisher Farms really shines. But recently I LOVED my session here. It has more of a southern feel, but did not disappoint.

 

 

The Point – Mooresville, NC

Carrigan Farms – Mooresville, NC

I have not photographed an engagement session here yet, but a couple weddings. It is stunning with the rock quarry. If you are looking for the grand photos with water on the top of rocks this is your place. It also has so many options outside of the quarry to give you options. They do charge a fee, but it is well worth is.

Those Family Locations

I really encourage you to ask. Ask all those family members you have with the pretty properties that or awesome connections. Here are a couple images from locations that a private to these clients. Also, bucket-list locations.. Panthers Stadium, airplane hanger & the Grand Canyon! Lets do it together!

 A Little Outside of Charlotte – NC Mountains

Boone, North Carolina will always hold a special place in my heart. So shooting in the North Carolina Mountains will always be my favorite. A day trip or weekend adventure is always so much fun to do a session on the mountains.
