Austin & Akaley got married on a December day at The Loray Mill in Gastonia, North Carolina. I met Akaley while working at a restaurant in high school & have stayed in touch since. So when she reached out about photographing their wedding I was beyond excited. I had heard so many great things about Austin, but it wasn’t until we met that I was blown away by not only how funny & kind he is, but how evident their love is for each other. Their love story has been full of adventure. They are all about the journey that life throws at them & that is one of the things I knew was going to make a perfect fit when photographing their love story & wedding!
The their big day arrived and it was surreal to walk into the doors of and see Akaley as a bride. Through almost two years of planning & a global pandemic, their day was absolutely perfect. Surrounded by the most beautiful friends & family. Loray Mill was the perfect location for their wedding!
Austin & Akaley chose the most beautiful fall color palette with rich Burgundy & greenery. This evoked such a Christmas elegance that looked perfectly intentional yet totally effortless. The organic floral design was one of the highlights of the day, featuring lots of lush greenery. Altogether, the details were visually captivating. These two are huge Gamecock fans, so having the Garnet color play a role was a bonus as well. All this to say none as beautiful as Akaley’s glam bridal look, which featured the most stunning gown. A well as her bridesmaids & man were so full of emotion when they saw Akaley for the first time.
The best part of their day was the moment Akaley walked down the aisle. After an emotional morning for Austin, filled with excitement about seeing his love. The moment he saw her for the first time is one to write fairytales about. Their ceremony was so personal to them, even down to a “unity beer” combing their favorite beers & becoming one. Austin & Akaley’s first date was at a brewery & they love discovering new breweries together so this was so fitting! Notice their centerpieces as well.
Overall, their day wedding at Loray Mill could not gave been better & I am so excited to share these with you!
